Pose 1: Cat-Cow Pose
The Cat-Cow Pose is a great way to start your day. It’s a gentle way to stretch, strengthen, and energize your entire body. Start by getting into tabletop, with your hands and knees both on the ground. As you inhale, arch your back into cow pose and tilt your head up. As you exhale, round your back into cat pose and bring your chin towards your chest. Continue to repeat this flow for a few minutes.
Pose 2: Downward Facing Dog
The Downward Facing Dog is one of the most beloved poses of all time. Start by coming onto your hands and knees, and then lift your hips up as high as they can go. Stretch your arms and legs out pressing firmly through your hands and feet. Relax your head between your upper arms and let your breath be your guide. Hold this pose for 3 to 5 breaths.
Pose 3: Cobra Pose
The Cobra Pose is a great way to open up your chest, shoulders, and back. To get into this pose, start on your stomach with your legs and feet together. On your inhale, press your palms into the ground and lift your chest and chin into the air. Squeeze your shoulder blades back and down, and look up towards the sky. Stay here for a few breaths and then release.
Pose 4: Warrior I Pose
The Warrior I Pose is a great way to build strength and endurance. To get into this pose, start in a high lunge with your right foot forward and your left leg extended behind you with the knee pressed into the ground. Lift your arms above your head and press your palms into one another. Squeeze your shoulder blades back and down, draw your belly button up, and stay here for a few breaths.
Pose 5: Half Moon Pose
The Half Moon Pose is a great way to work your balance and focus. To get into this pose, start in Warrior I and then lift your left leg up off the ground, hinging from the hip. Extend your arms up and then down, keeping your core engaged. Reach for your back foot to create more stability. Stay here for a few breaths and then come back into Warrior I.
